About Happee Threads
What is Happee Threads?
Happee Threads creates hand-painted needlepoint canvases inspired by the little things that make life joyful.
Our designs are created to make you smile before you ever thread your needle.
Our goal is simple: create canvases you'll love stitching, displaying, gifting, and collecting.
Where are you located?
Our studio operates online, which means we can spend less time tidying up a storefront and more time creating new canvases.
Follow us on social media and join our email list to hear about new releases, events, and all the stitching fun.
Do you have a retail store?
Not at this time.
Happee Threads is currently online only, but you can always find us through our website and social channels.
How often do you release new designs?
Often enough to keep your wish list growing.
We release new collections throughout the year and are constantly sketching future designs.
The best way to stay in the loop is to join our email list.
About Our Canvases
Are your canvases hand-painted?
Yes!
Every Happee Threads canvas is hand-painted. That means a real human carefully paints each canvas intersection by intersection.
It's a labor of love, and one of the things that makes needlepoint so special.
Why are hand-painted canvases more expensive?
Great question.
A hand-painted canvas isn't printed by a machine. Each color is individually painted onto the canvas by hand.
Depending on the design, a single canvas can take hours to paint.
When you purchase a hand-painted canvas, you're supporting artists, painters, designers, and a small business that genuinely loves this craft.
What mesh size do you use?
Most of our canvases are offered on either 13 mesh or 18 mesh.
Not sure what that means?
Think of mesh size as the canvas version of font size:
- 13 mesh = larger holes, easier for beginners
- 18 mesh = smaller holes, more detail
If you're new to needlepoint, 13 mesh is usually a great place to start.
I'm a beginner. Can I stitch your canvases?
Absolutely.
Every expert stitcher was once a beginner staring at a canvas wondering what on earth they were doing.
Many of our designs are beginner-friendly, and we're committed to creating resources that help you build confidence one stitch at a time. Check out of posts on all things needlepoint stitches to help you get started.
Do your canvases come with stitch guides?
Some do, some don't.
Whenever a stitch guide is available, we'll include that information on the product page.
We're also building a growing library of tutorials, stitch inspiration, and educational content.
Do you offer custom canvases?
At this time, we do not accept custom design requests.
We have more ideas in our sketchbooks than hours in the day, so we're focused on bringing those designs to life.
Never say never, though.
Thread & Kits
Do your canvases come with thread?
Unless specifically listed as a kit, canvases are sold without thread.
This gives stitchers the freedom to choose their favorite fibers and colors.
Do you sell kits?
Currently we do not sell kits. Join our email list to stay up to date once we begin selling kitted canvases.
How much thread will I need?
That depends on:
- Canvas size
- Mesh size
- Stitch choice
- How much thread you leave on the back
(We've all had those learning moments.)
If you're unsure, your local needlepoint shop can help calculate thread needs, or you can reach out to us for guidance.
Orders & Shipping
How long will my order take to ship?
Most orders ship within 5–10 business days.
We work hard to get your happy mail out as quickly as possible while ensuring every order is packed with care.
Do you ship internationally?
Currently, we ship within the United States.
As we grow, we hope to expand our shipping options.
Can I change my order after it's placed?
Because we begin processing orders quickly, we may not be able to make changes once an order is submitted.
If you need help, contact us as soon as possible and we'll do our best.
My package says delivered, but I can't find it.
First, check:
- Your mailbox
- Porch
- Side door
- Friendly neighbors
- That one mysterious place delivery drivers always seem to invent
If it still hasn't appeared, contact us and we'll help you figure out the next steps.
Returns & Exchanges
Do you accept returns?
Due to the nature of hand-painted canvases, we generally do not accept returns.
However, if something arrives damaged or there's an issue with your order, please reach out.
We want you to love your Happee Threads experience.
Copyright & Design Policies
Can I copy a Happee Threads canvas?
No.
Our designs are protected by copyright and may not be copied, traced, reproduced, charted, or distributed.
Creating original artwork takes a tremendous amount of time and creativity, and we appreciate your support in respecting that work.
Finishing
What can I turn my stitched canvas into?
The better question might be:
What can't you turn it into?
